AI skill · Volume 2 · Workflow K12

How do you capture what your firm learns about a key account?

It turns a week of meetings, laboratory findings and complaints into candidate entries for the account record, each one sourced, dated and marked observed or inferred.

It is workflow K12 of the twelve in AI for Key Account Management, sold on its own as one AI skill file (.zip) with a two-page start-here guide. Everything it writes is a draft for a person to check.

By Allen Chen, Deep Dive Reports, Wellington, New Zealand · Published 23 September 2026 · The skill carries the workflow and its prompts word for word from the report; it was adapted with AI assistance under a fixed method, and Allen Chen holds editorial responsibility. How the research is done

What you give it, and what comes back.

You attach: this week's meetings, laboratory findings, complaints and correspondence.

You get back: Candidate entries for the account record, each sourced, dated and marked observed or inferred.

It does not: write to your account record. A person approves each entry.

This week's meeting records, laboratory findings, complaint records and correspondence for the account, and the name of the person who curates the record.

One run, start to finish

What it looks like when you use it.

Run in Claude (Opus 5, high effort), in our own Claude account with the skill installed on 20 September 2026. The account and the week's records are invented for this example, and the run is shown as it came back, unedited. Your assistant's wording will differ: AI answers change between assistants and between runs.

input · what was given to the skill

The account, invented. ApplianceExample Group, with the account manager as curator. This week: their quality manager said the Malaysian supplier is "probably changing" next year and that a retailer has asked them for noise figures; two samples from their kitchen range failed the first electrical safety test on earthing continuity and passed after rework; a report was issued with the wrong model number and reissued the same day; their purchasing officer asked whether we could hold prices for two years.

output · what came back

Account: ApplianceExample Group. Curator: the account manager. Nothing below enters the record until they say so. Date on every entry: week ending 2026-09-20. Exact dates within the week are not found: the records you supplied are undated.

what to notice

Five facts went into the record and five judgements were held back as questions. Q1 is the best of them: two failures out of two samples is a striking number, and the run refuses to let it become "this family fails earthing continuity" on a sample of two. Q4 declines to write "she is open with us", on the grounds that one week is not evidence and the sentence outlives whoever wrote it.

Entry 4 also carries its own warning: it is what our laboratory observed on two samples, not a statement about certification, and it must not be repeated as one. That is the difference between an account record a successor can trust and a folder of impressions.

The skill, or the report?

This workflow is not sold on its own. It comes with AI for Key Account Management, which sets out the method and the evidence for all twelve of its workflows, and every licence includes all twelve as ready-made skill files at no extra cost.
